Recycling
Recycle, Reduce, Reuse. Its more than a cliche, recycling is a key component of sustaining our community. Recycling’s not just about removing soda cans from the trash, its about understanding your consumption habits and taking responsibility for the things you throw away.
Seem daunting? Its not. Although Springfield is not yet to free curb-side recycling services, Springfield makes recycling easy if you play your part.
Your choices?
A. Set up curb-side recycling pick-up with your trash service. All Springfield waste haulers are required to offer curbside recycling services, so call your provider. What could be easier than recycling right from your driveway?
B. Recycle at work. If your workplace doesn’t already provide recycling opportunities, then start talking! After all, businesses who recycle contribute to the community’s success- not to mention improve their public image.
C. Gather your recyclables and take them to one of the many businesses, not-for-profits, and City sites that offer recycling services. Chances are there’s a site on your way to work. Its more than just cans and glass, from used oil to bicycle, you can recycle it all in Springfield.
Here’s the must-have list of what and where to recycle in Springfield.
